The exact number is uncertain, but it’s a good number to aim for and a significant upgrade, considering the Xiaomi 14 had a 4,610 mAh cell and the Xiaomi 14 Pro had a slightly larger 4,880 mAh battery.

A Variable Aperture Camera Might Be Coming to the Vanilla Model

One of the coolest things about the Xiaomi 14 Pro is that it had a primary camera with a variable aperture, which is still one of the rarest features you’ll find among smartphone cameras. However, it is very useful as it offers much more versatility when taking photos.

The Xiaomi 14 was not deemed worthy of a variable aperture camera last year, which is not surprising as it would have likely significantly increased the price. However, it seems like the company may be considering putting a variable aperture primary unit in the regular model this year. This would certainly make the Xiaomi 15 one of the phones to closely watch.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is expected to be a ridiculously powerful smartphone chip, and the Xiaomi 15 series is set to be the first set of smartphones to come with this new SoC.

This is very exciting, however, it is said that the chip’s power demand requires larger batteries (which may explain the increase in the 15 series) and it is also expected to cost significantly more than last year’s chip (which may mean bad news for prices, considering all the other upgrades).

Ultimately, time will tell and, as long as there is no substantial price increase, these are likely to be absolutely excellent devices.
